- Shivaji Bhonsale (I) was an Indian warrior-king and a member of the Bhonsle Maratha clan. Shivaji carved out an enclave from the declining Adilshahi sultanate of Bijapur that formed the genesis of the Maratha Empire. In 1674, he was formally crowned as the Chhatrapati of his realm at Raigad.

- Died: 3 April 1680, Raigad Fort
- Coronation: 6 June 1674 (first); 24 September 1674 (second)

- How did they died ?: Nearly 338 years ago, on this day – April 3, 1680 – Maratha warrior king Shivaji Bhonsle, better know as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, died after ill with fever and dysentery.Shivaji's reportedly died on the eve of Hanuman Jayanti.
